Somewhere in outer space

More hands, I'm working on feet at the moment, and general anatomy(still a lot of work to be done on that) I'm not satisfied with some other sketches, so I didn't upload those. Also my hamster died two days ago and I'm still struggling with that at the moment. working on a little memorial thing...

I however decided to not all the themes in a tiny booklet I made:

of course I absolutely had to go and make it even more complicated so I took a made a hundred tiny notes like nya:

neatly folded them in four and deposited them in the oversized hourglass I made for 3D one time. this took me more time than I expected ^^U

Anyway, yesterday I took the first tiny paper and I got the subject:

SOLITUDE

wow...that's just a great theme to start of with >.< ....
not really. I've done some research, looked up the exact definition and some inspo and just started drawing something to the theme of alannis morissetti's "Fear of bliss" so: to kick the first ball in the field:

I'm not terrible happy with the way it turned out, but I sure do like the bright color contrast for some reason. Maybe the whole colorfield-thing is starting to rub off on me

silk=pretty colors

It's so awefully >_< funny how you can draw a million hands and still not grasp(lol) the whole concept of drawing hands that actually don't look like misshaped sausages >.<
Anyway, still working on hands, I'd better start on some feet soon. so I'm not gonna do too many sketches of hands anymore. planning is to first do some main sketching on feet and then return to colouring hands and feet with any material other than pencil(or chalk) Hope this is gonna work out. I also looked up some decent referance material, and you can actually download e-books on a lot of subjects on this website

In the meanwhile, I'm experimenting with backgrounds in pictures, I am trying to work some things out with photoshop as well as non-altered images. In the pictures below I used a silk scarf and one tiny spotlight, as well as really low candlelight from above(the "normal" light in our livingroom)the silk scarf suddenly shows a whole palet of intriguing colors :)

I don't reallu usually do abstract, but I really like how it turned out. It are actually just some grease stains in a sink.

Animation and chalk

This is the light studio I got for my birthday a while ago, I didn't really get to try it out. It worked perfectly with the clay-animation project. Here's a little intro I made just for funs of experimenting.

plus another hand-concentrated sketch that I drove a little too far.

and last but not least a little keychain I molded from clay and finished with some left-over fabrics and thigemy's that were lying around.

compilation of recent work

A logo I have been working on for a while, it's not finished, but it's getting there :)

Here's some updates on recent work and scribbles.

Dress Pattern
at my sewing class I have been working on producing patterns. There's not as much to it as I expected but you encounter thousands of little detail challenges trying to get it perfect. So I have been practicing drawing for a general pattern. This is the first 1/4th model I made.

Hand studies from bone to flesh(in progress)Some hand studies. I am trying to work on posing, different materials, shading and anatomy as well as realistic vs. semi-realastic(manga)

sketchbook updates:

Colored with photoshop:

And, a sewing project I've been working on.
